I am indifferent about how I feel about this one.

I think the book would please more older people who have more life experience because for me it was hard to understand some decisions that were made in the story. Mar 01, Keefe rated it liked it. Here, yyoung young woman, hobbled by her own “”desperate inner call,”” obsessively cares for and loves a dying man, while hovering about is another lover–a lover whose normalcy she yearns for like sunlight.

Then there is also Gordon–who does gentleman carpentry rather than read Nietzsche, and who is “”normal”” and a friend, as well as a lover. The book is basically about the train wreck of their lives. I disliked it so much. You get to know them more in every single chapter you read, and you find yourself rooting for each of them. I literally feel like nothing happened.

Dying Young by Marti Leimbach

KIRKUS REVIEW This young author’s first novel–celebrated pre-pub with a mega-advance and a film sale–offers the old-timey, sure-fire fascination of a fevered love story in which one partner is dying, and dying with flair. I really liked the premise of the book. If you’ve seen the movie, you’ve already read this book, but hey. A lot about ‘Dying Young’ as a film adaptation is about following the success of the mega hit. It was good, yes, but tough. The former was coming off the back of a decent success with grungy Seattle based relationship indie flick, ‘Singles’ but unfortunately for him, he was overshadowed by the music and the quirkier people around him.

Victor defies the phrase “brave fight against terminal illness” But the relationship between the written word and the silver screen ergo, Hollywood is a long and much documented story that better people have written better things about but the one thing that irks me the most about fallin I didn’t just want to write about a book today.

Victor, a year-old intellectual, has decided to end his treatment for leukemia and live out the remainder of his life in a small coastal community. Dying Young is a novel narrated by the torn-between-two-lovers, Hilary. Sep 27, Tree rated it liked it. How do you break somebody’s heart when they’re already dying?
